College football recruiting is getting ridiculous →
A 13 year old quarterback commits to USC! This kid hasn’t even gone through high school yet and USC has already offered him a college scholarship.
No drivers license.
No prom.
No arm pit hair.
College scholarship!

I have given up on the Dodgers, bring on college football season!
At the all-star break I had visions of the Dodgers winning the World Series. After the last two games watching them lose to the Diamondbacks (the Diamondbacks?! One of the worst teams in baseball!!!) and watching their only consistent pitcher in the second half (Kuroda) get his head blasted yesterday, and watching Kershaw go from the most dominant pitcher in baseball to a guy who can’t throw strikes, and watching Broxton also go from being the most dominant pitcher in baseball to a guy who couldn’t get a save if his life depended on it, and watching Russell Martin continue his season long funk, and watching Casey Blake and Manny Ramirez go weeks without having a meaningful hit with runners on….etc. etc. whatever, I give up. If the Dodgers somehow limp into the playoffs and somehow make it past the first round then I will pay attention again, but until then go ahead and continue to be the worst team in baseball since the All-Star break and play completely uninspired baseball.

ESPN - Sources: USC offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian gets Washington job →
This is good news for USC fans for two reasons.
#1 the program had fallen in love with Sark and were grooming him to take over for Carroll after he left. I think now that he is gone Carroll is much more likely to stay.
#2 Sark was not a good play caller. The offense has had no identity or rhythm for the last few years. He is overrated as a coordinator.

USC looked absolutely listless losing to OSU yesterday. The Dodgers clinched the NL West securing a spot in the playoffs yesterday.
Both events were tempered with the fact that it was my 5th day as a dad. I think Isaac will do a lot to calm my fanaticism and help me focus on what is really important in life. Will see if I am still saying that once he begins to play sports himself!
